A letter from AustraliaHi All It was good to go onto the web and see what is going on in the South Midlands Area & some familiar faces, & all the successes in competitions. I was a member of the S.M.A for many years & taught at Solihull College until we emigrated to Brisbane in Jan 2008, still keep in touch with some members. I am still pursuing my interest in floral art. Have joined a local club & have been demonstrating within the club, am also the treasurer, already on a committee! It is strange but it must be world -wide that clubs have difficulty in finding committee members. Have also joined FASQ & enter competitions, they also have a contemporary club along the lines of Centix so am able to learn new skills. Queensland is celebrating 150 year anniversary this year. FASQ is holding a celebration of heritage in flowers looking forward to taking part. Could you pass on my best wishes & for a successful 2009 for the South Midlands Area. Look forward to seeing more pictures. Still think about The enjoyable Saturdays at workshops at Teachers association which I know has changed its name. The weather over hear has been very warm & humid of late so not good for conditioning the flowers. Am enjoying using the tropical plant material, although lilies, carnations, and gerbera are very popular. Slowly getting familiar with the foliages. It’s a good learning curve. Best wishes Lynda Reynolds E-mail lyn1@yahoo.com.au
