South Midlands: 16th Area of NAFAS
Welcome to the Web site of the South Midlands Area of the National Association of
Flower Arrangement Societies. On the pages of this Website you will find a host of
items dedicated to the promotion of floral art throughout our own part of UK
The South Midlands Area covers the counties of South Staffordshire, West Midlands,
Warwickshire, parts of Leicestershire and Northamptonshire whilst incorporating the
northern borders of Oxfordshire and the very eastern edge of Gloucestershire.
We are one of twenty one areas, covering the whole of the United Kingdom and are
affiliated to NAFAS, the National Association of Flower Arrangement Societies. We
are also a Registered Charity (reg. no. 292789) and have 52 flower arranging clubs
spread throughout the South Midlands Area.
To help you find a club close to you, we have split our Area into 4 regions,
North, East, Central and finally combined the South and West as one region. To
find the nearest club to you click on a region link on the left of this page.
Most flower clubs meet once a month and their events include demonstrations of
flower arranging, lectures, flower festivals, competitive work, visits to gardens of
special interest, flower shows and lots more!
It would be fair to say that no two clubs are identical
Interested?
If you are interested in learning more about flowers, foliage and plants and want
to join like minded people, find the flower club page nearest to where you live,
and make contact with them.
You will find a warm welcome from everyone involved with the South Midlands Area,
both at Club level and from the Area Officers
The Area regularly hosts workshops, where members enjoy practical, fun hands-on
days, presented by experts. The subjects covered are wide ranging, from crafts to
Christmas themes, from current up-to-date trends to back-to-basics.

Development
Members of our flower clubs and individual members can develop their skills as
far as they wish. The Area hosts training days for aspiring floral demonstrators,
judges and speakers, with successful candidates often going on to take a national
qualification.Members of our flower clubs and individual members can develop

For members with photographic skills and a keen eye for that winning shot,
there are opportunities in the Photography Competition, judged and displayed at
our Area Day meeting
The Area is very progressive. We have several nationally qualified demonstrators
and our members often take high awards at national flower arranging competitions
- so you can see, you will be in good hands!
Somebody once coined the phrase FUN, FRIENDSHIP AND FLOWERS. This is still
applicable today. With flowers we all have lots of fun and make many new friends.
Don't miss all the information contained within the web site, explore all the
pages and maybe soon you will join us.
