October 2009 Meeting - Vanessa Higgins - Is it Christmas already?
We welcomed Vanessa Higgins as our demonstrator for our final club meeting of the year with an early
Christmas display of beautiful flowers and wonderful arrangements.
Vanessa had been unfortunately ill when booked last year but the wait was well worth it, as she enraptured the audience with her
designs.
With her fellow Avon Evening Club member Helen Hunter, on hand to help where necessary the afternoon was a special lead in to the festive season

SUMMER LUNCH
The Chipping Campden and District Floral Arrangement Society recently held its Annual Summer Lunch at the King George's Hall in Mickleton
With the Golden Anniversary theme running throughout the year, the members were able to enjoy their lunch in one of the few really"golden" days this summer, with
several members finding it "too hot" unbelievably to eat outside.
Members thanks were expressed to the committee for all their hard work in ensuring another "special event" went so smoothly.

GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY DEMONSTRATION APRIL 17TH
BACK TO THE FUTURE WITH LEE BERRILL
Chipping Campden and District Floral Arrangement Society held their 50th Golden Anniversary Open Meeting in April
with Lee Berrill as their guest demonstrator
A large audience filled the Chipping Campden School Hall to be enthralled by a superb display of arrangements with
magnificent foliage and flowers, expertly interpreted by an outstanding arranger.
Lee lead his audience through the years from the late fifties when the Society was formed, into the sixties and the way pop music
took over everyone's lives and on through the decades to finish with a wonderful arrangement in a golden style, to celebrate the Golden Anniversary
It was a marvellous evening and a great way for the club to open it's special year.
Rosemary Dancer proposed the vote of thanks to Lee and Chairman Phil Britt paid tribute to the work carried out by so many people past and present over
the years in making the Society a success.

2008 CHRISTMAS LUNCH
The Annual lunch, held this year at the Noel Arms Hotel, Chipping Campden was well supported by members and guests
and again provided a perfect introduction to the Christmas period and a conclusion to the Club's activities for 2007
Chairman, Phil Britt welcomed everyone and after the usual poetic "grace" everyone setled down to either their lamb or
guinea fowl main course
A successful reffle was concluded by a brief summary of the club's progress during the year in which members had won awards at
several shows including the Area show, Malvern Spring and the Royal Show.
The Club had been successful winning a bronze medal at Chelsea in the Spring and had then taken part in the St.James Church
Chipping Campden Flower Festival in August.
Phil then reminded members that next year was the Golden Anniversary of the club and that it would be a busy time for
everyone after the Christmas and New Year holidays.
