Members of the Henley in Arden Flower Club enjoyed their Christmas lunch and AGM at the Henley Golf Club this month.
Diana Haines and Margaret Owen who arrange the Clubs demonstrations provided a humorous account of the years events. /p>
Chairman, Paula Pugh was able to confirm to members that although Club expenses are rising, the cost of membership for the following year would not increase from its
current level of £16 for 7 workshops and demonstrations. It was agreed that the membership fee continues to represent excellent value for money.
Paula thanked committee members for their hard-work over the year which generated additional income for the Club.
The President, Annette Walker, who would generally give out awards and trophies on behalf of the Club, was in fact the recipient of the top award for the
Club’s monthly flower arrangement competition. Other winners included Club members Lola Phillips and Margaret Blakemore.
The Club is looking forward to a packed programme of events in 2012 including a demonstration from Tan Strong who recently appeared on the Channel 4
programme ‘Kirsty’s Handmade Britain’. Chairman Paula Pugh said that ‘visitors are very welcome to attend this event which will be held on the 12th June in
The Memorial Hall, starting at 7.30 pm’. However she advised visitors to come early as these events are well attended or reserve tickets in advance by calling
her on 07974640994. Tickets for this event are £8.
Next year starts with wine, nibbles and a workshop on the 10th January. Materials will be provided so visitors and guests are encouraged to book a place in
advance again by calling Paula, to ensure everyone can be accommodated. Tickets for the workshop for non-members are priced at £5.
All Club events which include demonstrations and workshops are held in The Memorial Hall, Station Road, Henley in Arden starting at 7.30 pm. |
