Norton Canes Flower Arrangement Club

Norton Canes Flower Club welcomes new members and visitors to join us in a range of activities assocated with flower arranging and floristry

Each year we offer a varied programme of activities including workshops and demonstrations by NAFAS Area and National demonstrators and florists. In addition we include associated crafts, horticultural talks and garden visits

The Club supports local Church Festivals and is a member of the Arts Council. Members take part in local and national competitions and can benefit from being able to purchase flower accessories, sundries and NAFAS publications such as the Flower Arranger, at discounted price.

If you are interested in providing flower arrangements for your own home or as gifts, why not join and learn the necessary skills

We aim to provide a relaxing atmosphere and provide an opportunity to work with plant material to create attractive, traditional and contemporary designs. Instruction, help and advise is always available.

NORTON CANES FLOWER CLUB

Although we are only a very small club in the South Midlands Area, we thought you might be interestedin how we are participating in the 50th Anniversary of NAFAS

Firstly, our AGM took place in January and at our dinner, we each had an individual gold rose to mark our place. All membersfinished the evening with a gift of a Gold anniversary pen, and so our celebrations began

We asked each of our members who were doing welcome arrangements each month to think on a Gold theme and where possible to use gold flowers

For Golden Fanfayre week, most members of all abilities took part in leting our village and surrounding area know what we are about by putting flowerarrangements on a golden theme in a variety of communal places from doctor's surgeries and clinics, local churches, libraries and shops. These brought many favourable comments.

These practice evenings are run by our moreexperienced arrangers and so it is quite easy to gear it towards our own highlights over the years.

All of this information is contained in our Golden Club Diary of events for 2009, the colour chosen for our year of celebration.

I hope you find this an interesting slant on what looks to be a super Golden Year

Congratulations NAFAS
