The Solihull Flower Club were delighted to welcome Sandy Bailey to the Solihull Arts Complex in May for their Spring Open Evening
A large and enthusiastic audience were spell bound by Sandy's designs and colour combinations as she interpreted her title, "Vibrant Variations" to maximum effect
Many members will have left the theatre appreciating that that an effective use of colour doesn't always have to be in a complementary manner and may themselves be encouraged in trying similar uses in the future.

It was a great delight to welcome national demonstrator Elizabeth Graham to our afternoon meeting.
With a broad palette of colours Elizabeth paid tribute to some of her favourite artists, accompanied by wonderfully entertaining stories and filling the stage with a beautiful display of designs.
It was a perfect afternoon for Barbara Priest's last demonstration as chairman and everyone went home having really enjoyed the performance.
Our thanks to Elizabeth for giving us such a treat.

Five Solihull members took to the stage to entertain the club for our annual in-house demonstration. Janet Krause, who takes over as Chairman in March, made her stage debut with some "Dancing Gerberas" in a posy pad.
Lesley Cole demonstrated a modern design on a red vase in her usual jolly style! Barbara Priest dished up a blend of oranges in her Roman-style fruit dish. Janet James entered the stage with her "small bit of wood" and decorated it with beautiful flowers of all seasons and ending with a friend to keep her design company.
Finally Margaret Rumens raised the tone of the evening with her sophisticated black & white design.
Yet more snow meant that the audience was smaller than usual but those who attended enjoyed the informal fun evening and the flowers were raffled to some luck winners, as always.
Our thanks to the five victims, sorry, volunteers who made the evening a lively one.

After the snows of January, Solihull Flower Club finally managed to begin 2010 with a lovely demonstration by Anna Stevens entitled "Flights of Fancy".
It was just what we needed on a grey day; beautiful colourful flowers and Anna's stories transproting us away from daily life to exotic and faraway places. We hope to see Anna again in the future.
Next week's evening meeting is our annual members panel when five Solihull victims (sorry - volunteers) take to the stage to entertain the club. This year's panel is entitled "Wot Pot" where each demonstrator will bring a pot or container they really enjoy using. Come along for an informal, fun evening.
