Sutton Coldfield Flower Club

Sutton Coldfield Flower Club was founded in 1964 and at present has over 80 members.

We meet at The Fellowship Hall,South Parade,Sutton Coldfield B72 1QU.

Our meetings start at 2.00 p.m. on the 1st Thursday afternoon of each month (except January & August)

We have a varied and interesting Programme and the majority of our meetings comprise of a demonstration given by a fully qualified Demonstrator at either Area or National level with the occasional workshop and social meeting.

Coffee mornings and outings also feature during the year.

We have a sales table for all flower arranging needs and a plant stall during the summer.

REPORT ON 2010 TO DATE

Our year so far has been a bit of a headache.

The first meeting was cancelled due to heavy snow but luckily all was well for Bill Dixons visit in March for his demonstration "Just William".

In April we expected Jayne King but she cancelled at extremely short notice and after a lot of phone calls by our Programme Secretary we were very relieved when Jayne Edmonds was free and agreed to give up her only free day.

Jayne stepped in at the eleventh hour and saved the day. Jayne, as usual, gave a super demonstration "For the Beauty of the Earth".

Just as we thought nothing else could go wrong sadly Katherine Kear was not able to come in May but Katherine arranged for Beryl Griffiths to come along instead.

Beryl's title was "A Tapestry of Colour" and it certainly was very colourful. We all thoroughly enjoyed it.

Fingers crossed the rest of our Programme for 2010 will run smoothly
